Water saving agricultural practices and a composting unit in SBR

As part of the management plan for the rehabilitation of the pilot abandoned terraces in the Shouf Biosphere Reserve, a compost unit was established in the village of Maasser El Shouf village.

The unit consists of a big pile of compost prepared by mixing shredded leaves with manure of animals from a local farm.

The action was completed with the organization of a workshop on composting for 25 local land owners and farmers.
