Project Description
In an effort to strengthen the sustainable tourism in the SBR, the ACS has carried four workshops, training and meetings for service providers which resulted in the signing of a charter to work for the provision of higher level services. The participants were owners of restaurants, guesthouses, tour operators, and several non-governmental organizations.
The ACS also prepared and developed up to 10 different tour packages for rural tourism for the area within the core and development zones of the SBR. Furthermore, the ACS has developed quality standards and marks for the services provided by restaurants and the villages within the core and development zones of the SBR. Some of the services include handicrafts like embroidery, soap, poetry and others as well as local food products which are marketed at the reserve entrances to increase and improve the income of the craftsmen and women in the region.
