Project Description
The objective of this action is to draw up a “forest sustainable & multitasking management plan” for the Medium Aterno Valley, based on the “Model Forest” (IMFN) approach. It means to include in this planning process all the local items and stakeholders which deal with forest ecosystems: biodiversity, logging, tourism, culture, truffles, CO2 sequestration, slopes erosion prevention etc.
According with this approach, our aim is to build a partnership between the Aterno valley municipalities, Velino Sirente Park, Regional Authority and every possible stakeholders in the valley, in order to join the International Model Forest Network.
Afterward, we aim to implement the management program using the 2014-2020 Rural Development Plan (RDP) subsidies. In this regard, we will produce also a portfolio of possible Aterno Valley forests projects to be submitted to the RDP calls.
