Management plan for 11 hectares of agriculture stone terraces in the SBR

This pilot action involved the selection of eleven hectares of pilot terraces based on the assessment methodology developed by the project and the negotiation of an adaptive plan for their restoration and put under production with the respective land owners.

The restoration work started in mid-2017 and continue throughout 2018 with the technical assistance of national and international experts. The works consist of stone walls rehabilitation, planting of highly economic value species, and cleaning of ponds to collect water for irrigation. In addition wooden cottages for the storage of agricultural equipment were built on three plots.
