The Aterno River Festival

Thursday 2 June, the first Aterno River Festival occurred in Fontecchio in the presence of around 200 people. The focus of this celebration was to bring again the attention of inhabitants and foreigners about the value of Aterno River as an asset for the Aterno Valley development.

Furthermore it has been the occasion for receiving informations and opinions useful for the  River Contract participatory process.

Several activities took place during the festival: canoeing along the river, biking from L’Aquila to Fontecchio, naturalistic and cultural trips on the surrounding areas, musical exhibitions on the ancient bridge, environmental education activities and eventually an “all together” dinner on the river banks.

The participants were very satisfied of this occasion and it was a vary important relaunch opportunity for the Aterno River.
