Project Description
Identify one suitable area and restore at least 1 Km of riverine ecosystem in the medium Aterno basin.
- Activity: first field survey on the 31/10/2016 visiting the river section within Fontecchio and L’Aquila, in order to find a series of possible suitable area to be restored. (attached plan and some pictures). A desktop research was done afterwards in order to identify the land tenure of the selected 4 areas.
- Activity: a meeting with Scontrone’ mayor who carried out an intervention on the Sangro river in order to remove the cement bankbuilt and re-naturalise the riverbank.
- Activity: second field survey with the participation od Pedro Regato in order to discuss with him which one of the selected areas could be the most significant for the project. Attached a short description of the most suitable area for intervention.
