Project Description
One of the lessons learned by the partner organisations through the previous phase of the project (2012-2015) is the critical importance of acting as a true a trans-national team, supporting the work at the local level with mutual and joint learning and exchanges of knowhow and best practices. For this reason, the second phase of Mediterranean Mosaics includes capacity development actions to enhance team skills and maximize the chances of long term sustainability of the program.
This component supports annual meetings of the MM Team, and a capacity development package including joint training, learning visits, exchanges of staff, and dissemination of experience through interaction with other projects in the Mediterranean region.
During the next three years, the project will hold three yearly meetings of all project partners to discuss progress and challenges, and plan the following steps of the work. Two training courses on adaptive natural resource management and landscape conservation will be organised on the first and second year, which will be open to representatives of the partners MM organisations, but also to important stakeholders from the target areas, and to representatives of other organizations engaged in similar projects in the Mediterranean region. On the second and third years, at least four team members from the Lebanese and Abruzzo sites will participate will spend time in the partner areas participate in the implementation of parts of the program, at the same time learning and contributing with their own skills and experience.
